Saint Luke's Hospital eRounds
TopMarch Employee of the Month

Dianna MeyerDianna Meyer, medication assistance coordinator, is the March Employee of the Month. Meyer's nomination read, "Dianna runs the Medicine Assistance Program, which helps patients who cannot afford their medications. This program is instrumental in trying to prevent readmissions to the hospital.

Not only does she supply the actual medication to go home with, she also sets follow-up appointments with primary care physicians. She has set up this program at North, East, and South. She has been a sought-after speaker at the National Case Management Society meetings and is presenting at their leadership conference in November. She has also published in the ACMA journal.

Dianna covers the entire hospital and often has many outpatients who keep in touch with her. She is constantly working with staff here as a team player and is highly regarded for her efforts. She works with a wide variety of patients and their families. She is a teammate I can depend on. When I'm overwhelmed she steps in and helps out. She works very hard and is always answering her pager on weekends and nights. Dianna has a kind heart. She is an excellent representative of what this hospital stands for, and I am blessed to work beside her."

Please join us in congratulating Meyer on this much-deserved honor.

Annual Employee Satisfaction Survey

The start of Saint Luke's Health System's annual employee satisfaction survey is here!

Please take a few minutes to let your voice be heard by completing the 2012 survey online. Your responses are anonymous, but your input is very important. This is your opportunity to share your thoughts about working at Saint Luke's and help us become an even better place to work going forward.

The survey (in both English and Spanish) will be available until Wednesday, March 28.

Employee Engagement Team

Did you know over the past year, your Employee Engagement Team was very involved in assisting the facilities and construction department with wayfindin"? The team's input was given on the internal and external signage around the hospital. Through their communication with you, feedback was gathered on what the signs should say and look like. We continue to receive comments and suggestions from employees via their communication liaisons and engagement team, so keep communicating! Your voice and opinion are definitely heard and make a difference.

From last year's survey, employees indicated they wanted to have more recognition for their hard work. The Engagement Team heard you! Each department is now given a budget per employee to use for recognition. As individuals like to be recognized in different ways, let your manager or communication liaison know how you like to be recognized, either individually or in a department recognition!

You can once again impact how things are done at Saint Luke's by taking the 2012 employee satisfaction survey before March 28. Click on the links above to access the survey.

Una versión en español de la Encuesta de Opinión para el Empleado está actualmente disponible en línea en "Employee eLink."

Departments with 100 percent participation by tonight at midnight will be entered in to a drawing for a pizza or ice cream party!

Taking stock of SLH workplace integrity

Did you know that your responses to these three statements on the Annual Employee Satisfaction Survey help our leaders understand the effectiveness of Saint Luke's Ethics and Compliance Program?

  • My leaders provide an environment that promotes legal/ethical behavior.
  • My coworkers follow ethical and legal behavior in the workplace.
  • I am comfortable reporting unethical/illegal behavior to my supervisor, the compliance office, or human resources.

These statements are meant to describe the integrity of our workplace tone and culture. How employees view these areas is important to gauge our collective intent to never settle for less than doing the right thing each and every day.

During employee performance reviews, each of us is asked to affirm that we understand and will abide by SLHS Shared Behaviors.

We acknowledge that we are expected to do the right thing and are responsible to make known any issues or concerns about workplace ethics, compliance, or privacy. Employees are protected from retaliation when submitting a report.

Be sure that your views about Saint Luke's workplace integrity are included in the Annual Employee Satisfaction Survey.

I would like to thank Barb Sexton for her cheerfulness and wittiness. She helps our patients every day with her good humor. Even when they come in a bad mood, she is able to get them out of it just by being herself.  Keep it up, Barb!
