Over 90% of Boy Scouts are former Cub Scouts.  That's a strong statement on the importance and value of the Cub Scout program.  However, when boys drop out of Cub Scouts before transitioning to Boy Scouts, they miss out on great opportunities.  To improve Cub Scout retention, we have been chosen as one of 20 councils by the National BSA to participate in a three year retention project.

The Cub Scout Retention Pledge program was developed by our council leadership to assist your Cub Scout Pack in retaining your Cubs longer.  The program features the top 8 proven retention techniques.   Packs who accept the pledge and 'Do Their Best' to implement these techniques this fall, will be invited to attend a free ice cream social at Akala Cubs in October!

The pledge also identifies how our council will support your pack in each retention technique.  The pledge is a partnership between packs and the council.
