Online Tour and Activity Plan to Go Live
Thursday, May 10, 2012

The new Tour and Activity Plan will officially replace the old Tour Plan beginning May 10, 2012. This is a great new tool developed by National BSA.  Go to the council website news section for more details and a downloadable information sheet.

A FAQ Page and informative training video has been developed on how to use the new Tour and Activity Plan application.  These tools are available at www.myscouting.org or http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/HealthandSafety/DEMOTourPlanFAQ.aspx.

Please note that all of your previously approved Tour Plans will cross over and be archived in the new system, but any outstanding ones will not. If you have submitted a Tour Plan and it is yet to be acted upon, please contact the Council Service Center at 334.793.7882 ASAP and check on the status. If no action is taken by May 10, you will need to resubmit the trip via the new Tour and Activity Plan.

Family Friends of Scouting Campaign
Now!

I was recently asked, "Who pays for Scouting?"  The obvious answer is the Scout's parents and his unit; of course, this is correct.  However, there are a lot of behind the scene services provided by the local council that are critical to the unit operation that the parents/unit does not fully pay for.  Just a few of these services include:  Camp Alaflo operations, medical insurance for Scouts and leaders, liability insurance for volunteer leaders, council service center, training courses, camperships for low income families, online services and council staff.  The Friends of Scouting(FOS) Campaign helps to pay for these services.  If your unit has not scheduled your 2012 presentation, please contact the Council Service Center at 334.793.7882.  Back by popular demand is our theme FOS Bowl!
