MN State House Candidates Forum (Districts 8B and 12B):

October 8, 5:00-7:00pm - Doors open at 4:45pm

 District 12B:

  • Representative Paul Anderson (incumbent)
  • Rick Rosenfield

 District 12A: All candidates declined the opportunity to attend this event.

The Legislative Candidate Forum is non-partisan and is being organized by the Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Alexandria Area Economic Development Commission, and will be hosted by Alexandria Technical & Community College.  Additional information on this event can be found by going to www.alexmn.org/legislative_forums.html.

This candidate forum is completely non-partisan and are being designed as an educational opportunity for local voters.  The event will be comprised of a time for questions prepared by the Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce Legislative Committee along with a time for audience questions.  Following the forum, participating candidates will be available to meet with constituents.

 

The following rules of decorum will be in place for both Legislative Candidate Forum events:

  • All electronic devices must be silenced
  • No flash photography
  • No attendee disruptions including inappropriate comments or actions, use of inappropriate language, etc.
  • No signs or banners allowed in the room
  • Noise makers and other disruptive sound devices will not be allowed in the room
  • The audience will be asked to hold all applause until the end of the program
  • Video recording will only be allowed by authorized media
    • All media representatives must pre-register their attendance for the event 

This forum is open to everyone and is free of charge.  Due to facility space restrictions, the number of attendees allowing into room 743 will be restricted to approximately 250 persons.  Overflow seating with a closed circuit television feed has been set up in a nearby space to accommodate additional seating needs.
