Due to the cancellation of last night's Committee of the Whole and Special Board Meeting, the Orleans Parish School Board has pushed back the start time of the Business Meeting tonight, Tuesday, February 28, 2012, to allow 24 hours notice of the revised agenda in accordance with Louisiana Open Meetings Law. The meeting will now begin at 6:30 p.m. in the McDonogh 35 High School Auditorium, 1331 Kerlerec Street.
The amended agenda includes a vote on a redistricting plan for OPSB and is linked below the following synopsis of yesterday's Public Hearing:
- Approximately 60 to 70 people attended, other than staff and Board members
- Of the 15 persons testifying at the hearing, 11 spoke in support of Amended Alternative A, one in favor of original Alternative A, and one in favor of Alternative B
- The maps and demographic characteristics of the six alternatives under consideration and the current districts are available here
- OPSB must select an alternative by March 1
