The Thursday, August 11, 2011, Public Meeting to provide information and allow public comment on revisions to the Master Plan has been postponed as officials of the Orleans Parish School Board and Recovery School District have announced a new process for revising the Proposed Master Plan Amendments.

Some key updates therein include:
- New process resulted from public input received since the Proposed Master Plan Amendments were published.
- Process goals are to make best use of available funding and to put more children in high quality facilities.
- Amendment time table has been revised to delay final OPSB & BESE approval until October, thus allowing additional time for revisions.
- Previously announced August 11th Citywide Public Meeting is postponed TBA.
- Team of experts has been tasked with investigating several optional strategies, including the following:
- Prototype school designs for new construction;
- Alternate delivery methods for renovations; and
- Using new market tax credits, historic tax credits, and qualified school construction bond credits.
- Integrating other funding sources into construction.
- Bulk purchasing of certain items.
- Renovating and reusing "opportunity schools" previously not funded for improvements.
