Greetings!

Recent state legislation will remove the Orleans Parish School Board from "at-risk" status effective August 15, 2011. This change will allow the OPSB to authorize new charters. The attached Open Process Timeline identifies key dates and deadlines for new charter applications.

An orientation session for applicants is currently scheduled for Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 1 p.m. in the OPSB Administrative Office, 3520 General DeGaulle, Suite 4050. Updates or revisions should be available on the NOPS Charter School webpage.

The following report is from the OPSB Surplus Property Auction held earlier today, Thursday, July 28, 2011.
