The following report is from the Thursday, April 28 public auction of Orleans Parish School Board surplus properties.

SURPLUS PROPERTY AUCTION

OPSB held an auction of several pieces of surplus real estate at 11:00 a.m. on April 28. Approximately 60 persons attended.

 

On behalf of the OPSB, the following firms managed the auction:

  • Auctioneer: Gilmore Auction and Realty Co.
  • Marketing: NAI/Latter & Blum, Inc. Realtors
  • Legal: Goins Aaron, PLC  

The properties were offered "as is" without warranty except as to title. Acts of Sale are projected to be within 30 days of auction. 

 

 The results were as follows:

  • LaSalle School (Old NOCCA) sold for $2,450,000;
  • McDonogh 16 School (NOCEA) did not sell;
  • Banks School sold for $660,000;
  • Algiers Bus Barn did not sell;
  • Bodenger Site (Idaho & Seine) did not sell;
  • Lake Forest Site did not sell;
  • N. O. Free School Custodial Lodge sold for $240,000;
  • Seabrook Site did not sell; and
  • Ashe School Custodial Lodge was withdrawn from the sale.

OPSB administrators said those properties that did not sell will likely be offered again at a future date.
