Many people have difficulty giving away books because they equate owning the book with the knowledge the book gave them. Internalize whatever enlightenment or knowledge the book gave you, and know you can always borrow it from the library or purchase it again if you really miss it. Summer is the perfect time to exchange books with friends. Try signing a favourite book, giving it to a friend, and asking the friend to write their name under yours and pass it along when they are finished. When you receive a book you will rejoice in seeing the names of people who read it before you.
