NCCU Division of Bands

10th Annual Chancellor's Wind Symphony Concert

Dear Friends: 

 

As a loyal supporter and contributor of the NCCU Division of Bands, the pleasure of your company is respectfully requested, for an evening of beautiful music.

 

On Saturday, April 30th at 3:00 pm, in NCCU's B.N. Duke Auditorium, the NCCU Divisions of Bands will perform the Tenth Annual Chancellor's Concert. The performance will mark the tenth anniversary of the Division of Bands' Symphonic Music Initiative.

 

NCCU's Wind Symphony, conducted by Jorim Edgar Reid, will pay tribute

to the contributors of the band program at NCCU. 

 

Premiering compositions by Honoree Clarke A. Egerton, Jr., NCCU

Golden Eagle Alumnus, and former Band Director of Hillside High School, Durham, NC:

  • Prokofiev's "Ten Pieces, Op. 12: I. March" 
  • Prokofiev's "Ten Pieces, Op. 12: II. Gavotte"

Music compositions of Grainger, Sousa, Ticheli, and Hazo will also be featured.

 

The Axis Drumline and Percussion Ensemble will perform during the prelude and intermission.

 

The event is free to the public. The doors will open at 2:00 pm for a reception. The prelude will begin at 2:30 pm and the concert will begin at 3:00 pm
