Sharks Foundation 2011-12 Giving Recap
On behalf of the Sharks Foundation, I'd like to sincerely thank you for your help in positively impacting our community. Your contributions to the Sharks Foundation have not gone unnoticed and we are truly honored to have your support in our efforts to enhance the lives of tens of thousands of underserved youth and their families.
This season alone, we were able to distribute over half-a-million dollars in monetary support, and provide critical services and resources to those in need. Over the past two seasons, thanks to your generosity, the Sharks Foundation has donated nearly $1 million and has given $5.7 million since 1994.
We're especially proud of the newly redesigned "Sharks Pediatric Clinic" at Valley Health Center Tully, which is a part of our focus on the health and wellness of our community.
Whether it's bidding on items at our charity auctions, purchasing Mystery Pucks, donating to our collection drives or attending our fundraising events, without your support, the Sharks Foundation would not exist. Below is a summary of our community impact this season:
In addition to these monetary donations, the Sharks Foundation also:
- Helped 25,000+ students learn about the importance of reading through "Reading Is Cool" Presented by Comerica Bank. Donated more than 2,000 age-appropriate books to school libraries and classrooms.
-Provided over $100,000 in Sharks tickets to more than 40 non-profit organizations and hundreds of underserved children through the generosity of Sharks forward Martin Havlat #9.
We understand that there are many deserving non-profit organizations that need support and we thank you for trusting the Sharks Foundation to make important decisions on how to distribute the money you've given us. We're looking forward to your active participation in our organizational philanthropy in the upcoming season.
Sincerely,
Jeff Cafuir
Sharks Foundation Manager
