Designing Your State's Landscape Stewardship Program: Resources and Concepts for Better Integration

April 3, 2012

2:00 PM EDT (1:00 PM Central)

Presenter: Lindberg Ekola

Minnesota Forest Resources Council

The majority of America's forests are privately owned. While there are years of successful efforts in providing services to private woodland owners, threats to forests continue to rise.

Forest fragmentation, invasive species, climate change, and declining water quality are landscape-level concerns that increasingly threaten our Nation's forests. These growing threats are coupled with declining public investments.

The job of delivering services to private woodland owners is getting more complex, and resource issues are becoming more interrelated. States are being challenged to develop "all lands approaches" to address these threats.

So how can a State resource agency rise to the challenge? How can it work with partners to create sustainable statewide programs that integrate landscape stewardship principles and practices? This Webinar introduces foundational concepts to designing your State's landscape stewardship program.
