Run Your Own Race - the monthly newsletter from Grove Hill Coaching.
The summer is here and we're all enjoying the sunshine while it lasts.
This issue talks about the positive power of saying no and also how the Rolling Stones, Jimmy Cliff and the universe itself can help you live the life you want to live!

A friend recently recommended 'Yes Man' to me. It is a fantastic book and film in which the main character essentially says 'yes' to everything he is asked and lots of good things happen as a result.
However he also later learns that 'yes' is not always the right answer. And this got me thinking about the power of saying 'no'.
Although saying yes can more often than not bring opportunities, saying no can be equally powerful if used carefully. Read more...

How Can The Rolling Stones & Jimmy Cliff Help You To Live Your Life?
You can't always get what you want - really?
'If only I had more time' is surely one of the most over-used expressions in 21st century society. It seems that people are often prevented from doing
things they want to do because they don't have time.
So imagine for a moment that it were you saying 'if only I had more time' to do what you want to do.
You can get it if you really want
- can you?
How much time would you need? 5 days?
5 months? 5 years? And perhaps more importantly, what would you do with it?
If you sit down for a few minutes and break down how much time you really have and how you actually spend it, what do you notice? Do you actually have the time to do what you want to do and live the life you want to live?
"Why should I? I don't want to!" said a teenage girl protesting to her mother earlier today in a shopping centre. It looked like they were clothes shopping for the daughter. Maybe the mother wanted to get something that the girl didn't think was cool enough. Hardly an unusual situation perhaps but it got me thinking about the word 'should'.
