August 1, 2011 - Are you a do-it yourself kind of person? Do you like to just handle things without the need to involve others or impose on others? Do you also feel overwhelmed a majority of the time because of all that you have to get done? While being independent and self sufficient are excellent traits and certainly something to be proud, when you take it to the extreme of handling everything then you are also extremely limiting your ability to truly make progress on a variety of fronts. Chances are you have also put some things on hold until "you can get to them" and those things on hold stay continuously on hold, right?
Take an MM&I Moment to consider all that you are juggling right now and handling on your own. List them and take a look at them from a new perspective. What can you allow someone else to assist you with? What can you delegate to move further along than it is right now? Who would be perfect to bring in for insight, managing or producing? What are you doing that you really would prefer someone else do? Allow others in to create a team effort towards your goals and before you know it you will be celebrating triumphs and have plenty to celebrate with too!

Savvy Secret Tip of the Week
Don't rely on technology alone to communicate and promote your offerings. While it is convenient and inexpensive, it is also inundated and easily forgotten. Reinforce and supplement virtual communications with tangible communications that can be touched and embraced. Nothing stands out more in this age of texting, emailing and Googling than a good old-fashioned handwritten note or a card. Think about those you appreciate the most in the work that you are doing and let them know the old fashioned way. Chances are that note will be kept or even displayed as a reminder of someone who took the time to make it a bit more personal. (Secret #18, 50 Marketing Secrets of Growth Companies).
