New Look, New Phase in Parish Communication

This weekend you will begin to experience something new in the communications strategies of our parish. After much thought, prayer, and work, we are ready to begin this new phase in the many tools through which we communicate as a parish. These include the launch of our redesigned parish bulletin and The Plaza, and a simpler, easy to remember domain name: clement.org. Please see page 7 of this weekend's bulletin for more information on this new phase in parish communication.

Parishioners Walk to End Violence

Clement at Crosswalk

On April 2, a contingent of Saint Clement parishioners marched in the CROSSwalk Holy Week procession, a vigil to honor children slain by gunfire in Chicago. The walk began at St. James Cathedral at 65 East Huron with a short ecumenical prayer service that included Cardinal Francis George. Hundreds of participants from churches, anti-violence organizations, and youth services groups then walked to the Richard J. Daley Center in the Loop where city and government representatives honored the dead children. The procession continued to Old St. Patrick's Church in the West Loop for another service of remembrance. The procession concluded at Stroger Hospital, where so many of the young victims lost their battles to live. The march was a moving tribute to the victims, as well as a call to action to get involved.

Anyone interested in volunteering to help save the lives of at-risk children can visit the CROSSwalk Chicago website which lists many ways you can make a difference.
Please Return Romero Scholarship Collection Cans this Week

Please turn in to the parish office any collection cans and donations for the Romero Scholarship, our focus for this year's Lenten almsgiving. If writing a check, please make it out to "Saint Clement Parish -- Romero Scholarship." Thank you for your generosity!

Please return the cans as well so we may use them again next year.

Saint Clement Blood Drive Sunday, May 6

Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. More than 38,000 blood donations are needed every day. More than 1 million new people are diagnosed with cancer each year. Many of them will need blood, sometimes daily, during their chemotherapy treatment. A single car accident victim can require as many as 100 pints of blood. One donation can help save the lives of up to three people. Source: American Red Cross

Saint Clement Parish will host a Blood Drive on Sunday, May 6. Heartland Blood Centers will hold the drive in the school gym from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Appointments are appreciated, but walk-ins are welcome. Please email Mary Cele Doyle or call 773-281-0371 x112 to make an appointment. A photo ID will be required.

Due to the Blood Drive, there will be no Child Care during the 9:30 a.m. Mass on May 6.
