An Anchor Ball for the Ages!

March 10, 2012, at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel

Anchor Ball 2012_dancing

The band got down, the new venue got ooh's and aaah's, the bidding

got hot, and the celebrants got to reset their watches to daylight

savings time before the

party was over. Anchor Ball

at the Aqua was one terrific party and celebration of our parish community. Congratulations to our

lucky cash raffle winners! First prize winners were

Carol & Brendan Deely; second prize winner was Christi Franklin.

Big Bidding War I: The Clement Culinary Cook-off between Fathers Ken and Manny, both in chef's whites to rally the bidders.

Big Bidding War II:
Father Manny switches to his

Hawks Jersey to join

Jamal Mayers in cheering bidders for the Blackhawks Package.

Relentless revelers donned flip-flops and downed sliders at the After-Party, which was thoroughly documented in Photo Booth pictures. Some are appearing on Facebook pages now. Others, you can be sure, will never see the light of day. We'd like to thank all who attended. And many thanks to the volunteers, and our dedicated co-chairs who made the event happen; your thousands of hours of hard work certainly paid off for us all!

Paddle Raise

At Anchor Ball we debuted a beautiful video introducing this year's Paddle Raise, which will benefit three scholarship initiatives:

  1. Saint Clement Mission Scholarship: A need-based fund for parishioners to participate in Saint Clement mission work.
  2. Tuition Assistance Program: 1/3 of the money raised will help our students with financial need at Saint Clement School.
  3. Romero Scholars of Saint Clement: As part of Clement Commits, 9.5% of the Paddle Raise will go to our sister parish 22 de Abril in El Salvador. To commemorate and celebrate our 20-year relationship, this fund will provide promising young students in our sister parish a 4-year scholarship to a Jesuit college.

We invite you to watch the video online.

Thank you to those who already donated to the Paddle Raise fund. For those who would still like to make a donation, you may donate online. Or, you may write a check to Saint Clement Parish--with "Paddle Raise" in the memo line--and mail it to the church, or drop it in the collection basket. Thank you for your consideration and generosity!

Service Day Registration
7th Annual Event Scheduled for Saturday, April 28

The 7th annual Saint Clement
Service Day will be held this year on Saturday, April 28.
As followers of Christ, we are called to serve one another.
As a parish, Saint
Clement
will participate in a variety
of
service projects at organizations throughout
our community and the Chicagoland area.
A great
way to share our time and talent, learn more about
these organizations and the communities they serve,
and meet other parishioners. Last year more than 300
parishioners participated; let's make this year an even bigger success!

Further information and registration available online and following each liturgy this weekend, March 24/25, on the plaza.

For questions or more information, call the parish office at

773-281-0371 or email serviceday@stclementchurch.org.
