"We Help Business Owners That Have A Dream

& Their Dream Isn't Accounting "

What's New at Profit Focused Principles...

Tax Season is here!  It's time to start thinking about preparing your documents and getting everything in line for filing.  I'm very happy to say I now have Denise working with me and a couple others helping out in the office. Now that I have someone holding down the QuickBooks Fort for me, please don't hesitate to ask if you need help with your
taxes or a consultation.  Business is growing, and I've also picked up some new clients thanks to some of your great referrals, which I truly appreciate.

Preparing your own income tax return can be a task that leaves you with more questions than answers. According to a study released by the US Government's General Accounting Office last year, most taxpayers (77% of 71 million taxpayers) believe they benefited from using a professional tax preparer.  If you own a small business and haven't kept up your bookkeeping, don't worry. We can help you. We'll prepare your bookkeeping for the year, prepare a full Schedule C, as well as your personal income tax return.  Time flies by, so don't procrastinate.  We are here to help.

Thank you,

Repetitive Transactions?
Memorize 'em.

Filling out invoices the first time can be a pain, especially if they're lengthy. But doing the same thing repeatedly if the identical invoice recurs regularly? No need.

QuickBooks can memorize a variety of transaction types, including invoices, purchase orders, and bills. After you've memorized them, you can edit, reschedule, and delete them, as well as group them if more than one will be dispatched on the same day. Here's how.

A familiar start

Let's say you're starting a new job providing regular training for a client; it's always four hours, every Monday, for 12 weeks. First, find or create the invoice.

After you've found (or created) the invoice, then click Edit | Memorize Invoice. This window opens:

Figure 1: You'll define the terms of your memorized transaction in this window.

The client's name will already be filled in. You'll first have to decide whether you want to just be reminded every week (the tickler will appear in your Reminderslist) or whether you want QuickBooks to automatically enter the transaction. Click the appropriate button, or Don't Remind Me if you have another way to remember.

Judy Phillip

President, Extra Edge

As Naperville businesses move forward in 2012, they might be contemplating not only how to build and grow their business, but also how they could give back to their community.

Judy Phillip asked herself that when she started
Extra Edge.  She
knows first-hand that having to manage everything a business entails on a day to day basis is enough to keep even the best organized  owners awake at night. A neverending to-do list, staffing, business licenses, marketing, generating traffic or revenue for your business, legal issues, accounting, human resource issues, and so much more!  Quite simply, Judy created Extra Edge so she could bring together her expertise and network of resources to help a multitude of owners
overcome their challenges and find success. She excels at working with them to review their current business practices and marketing efforts, determine their strengths and weaknesses and show them what they can do to take them to the next level. Most of all, she wants to provide solutions to their biggest and most daunting business dilemmas to help them sleep at night!
