What's New at Profit Focused Principles
Greetings!
With summer in full swing, many people are enjoying picnics, summer events and vacations. Thanks to good fiscal planning, that vacation nest egg was available. Definitely a benefit of keeping your monetary records in check throughout the year. While times have been tougher lately versus past years, you can still find ways to save some money if you keep track of your pennies.
This is why I personally recommend using QuickBooks for your financial accounting. After Intuit released its successful Quicken product for individual financial management, the company wanted to provide a similar solution for small business owners giving them a system that required little or no accounting experience, yet helped provide financial structure and compliance. That's how QuickBooks was born.
Many of its main functions include:
- Organize your finances all in one place and Manage customer, vendor and employee data.
- One-click financial, tax and sales reports.
- Easily print checks, pay bills & track expenses.
- Get a consolidated view of your business with Company Snapshot.
- Track sales, sales taxes & customer payments.
- Send invoices and estimates right from your business Yahoo, Gmail or Hotmail account.
- Save time with Batch Invoicing.
- Accept credit and debit cards right in QuickBooks.
- Track time, mileage, and expenses to bill clients.

Add/Edit Multiple List Entries Simplifies Record Changes | |
Data entry and modifications in QuickBooks can be tedious. Beginning with QuickBooks 2010 Pro Edition and above, that job got a lot easier. The Add/Edit Multiple List Entries tool does just what its name implies: It lets you add entries to your lists of customers, vendors, services, inventory parts, and non-inventory parts. It also makes changing one or several of them quick and easy.
Using this feature, you can:
- See customized views of your list data
- Enter missing information
- Create new entries from duplicates of existing ones
- Do a mass change of a whole column
- Copy and paste records from Excel
There are myriad applications for this tool. You could use it, for example, when you're changing Preferred Vendors for a group of items and you don't want to have to edit each individual item record.
