Lawrence OB/GYN:
"Helping to Keep Women Moving...
Because Women Move the World."
|

|
Greetings!
During Women's History Month, we celebrate the extraordinary accomplishments of women and the significant role women have played in shaping our nation's history. Today, women have reached heights their mothers and grandmothers might only have imagined.
At Lawren ce OB/GYN, we are dedicated to celebrating women every day of every month. This Spring, we are excited to be part of two events that honor something near and dear to all women -- family. Join us on April 17th for our "Easter Egg-stravaganza" with 94.5 WPST FM, and on April 30th for "March for Babies." You won't want to miss some cool prizes we'll be giving away including a Coach handbag to a lucky winner, as well as other fantastic prizes!
In addition, beginning in April, we are proud to be introducing "Yoga Birth Right Prenatal Classes." Led by yogini, Abigail Boehm, CNM, MSN, Yoga Birth Right Prenatal Classes will help women harness the power of yogic techniques. A midwife, mother, artist and a lover of movement, Abigail weaves her knowledge and practice of yoga and midwifery together to create this unique approach to the child-bearing years.
This month, take a moment to celebrate YOUR accomplishments and contributions to the world. Whether it's as a daughter, mother, wife, sister or friend, be proud of the woman you are today!
With warm regards, Your friends at Lawrence OB/GYN |
Spread the Word as We "March for Babies"!
| |
Lawrence OB/GYN is proud to be sponsoring the March of Dimes "March for Babies" walk, and we want YOU to be part of our team! Please join us on Sunday, April 30th, for a five-mile walk throughout Mercer County Park. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the walk beginning at 9 a.m.
When yo u walk in March for Babies, you give hope to the more than half a million babies born too soon each year. The money you raise supports programs in your community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. Additionally, it funds research to find answers to the problems that threaten our babies. The March of Dimes has been walking since 1970 and has raised an incredible $2 billion to benefit all babies.
No matter if this is your first year or your 25th, you can expect the event to be fun, compelling and rewarding. Join our team and let's walk together for stronger, healthier babies!
If you are unable to make it to the event, please consider giving a donation to help raise money for this wonderful cause. Know that every dollar you donate will help babies to have the very best start in life.
On behalf of Lawrence OB/GYN, we thank you for your support!

Lawrence OB/GYN Says Goodbye to Retiring Nurse Sandy Parker
|
It is a bittersweet time for Lawrence OB/GYN as we announce the retirement of Sandy Parker, one of our Nurse Practitioners. Sandy has been a part of our group for 15 years and has provided friendship as well as health care to our patients, physicians and staff. We will truly miss her! Below is a letter from Sandy:
To my patients:
Family obligations have made it necessary for me to retire from my position at Lawrence OB/GYN. This ends a professional relationship that has become more akin to a friendship. It has been an honor and a privilege to take part in your health care. Thank you for allowing me to share such an important part of your life.
Sincerely,
Sandy Parker, RN APNC

Yoga is Here!
|
Beginning in April, we are excited to be hosting " Yoga Birth Right" in our office. Led by Abigail Boehm, CNM, MSN, the Yoga Birth Right techniques are based on ancient teachings and modern scientific practices that support the psychology and physiology of the birthing process. Abigail is a yogini with over 35 years of experience in various yoga traditions including Kundalini, Vinyasa flow, Ashtanga and Anusara. Abigail received her Masters' Degree in Science of Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and teachs about Yoga, Women's Health and Prenatal Yoga at National Health Conferences. Yoga Birth Right offers prenatal and postnatal classes, group and private yoga-based childbirth classes for couples, private sessions for women preconceptually with infertility and workshops for women and prenatal teacher training seminars for yoga teachers.
No experience is needed. Abigail can work with you whether you are an experienced yoga student or totally new to yoga. Prenatal yoga does not require any special training, flexibility, strength or skill. She work with each individual at her own pace. The series is open to all stages of pregnancy.
