Ready, Set, Find!
Andy the Ambulance, our remote control mini-ambulance that makes appearances at parades and schools, is set to play a game of hide and seek next week! Andy will be visiting prominent points-of-interest in the Erie area and we're having a contest to see who can identify the places.
Each day from Sept. 26 - 30 our Facebook page will feature a short video of Andy in a different location. Each day we'll do a drawing for several free memberships among the people who correctly identified the location. At the end of the week, everyone who got the location right each day will be entered in a drawing for a HD Flip Video camera - a $99.99 value!
If you don't already "Like" us on Facebook, now is the time to join in the fun. |

Membership Campaign in Full Swing
On September 13 EmergyCare kicked off its annual Membership Campaign. The kickoff included the introduction of eight new members who saw the value in protecting themselves and their families from out-of-pocket expenses for emergency ambulance service.

New member Carolyn Eller is 26 years old and lives in the city of Erie. She remarked, "I decided a Membership would be a good idea after recently tripping on one of my regular runs. It was a misstep on an uneven sidewalk and was not a big deal, but it got me thinking about how quickly a serious accident can happen. A Membership is an affordable way to make sure you don't have unexpected bills for an ambulance, if a serious accident or illness occurs."
Other new members represented a wide range of ages, townships of residence and life-stage, showing how valuable a membership can be, no matter your situation.
The kickoff event was followed by a community information day about our Membership Program. BOB FM 94.7 broadcast live, prizes were available and interested individuals could stop by to ask questions about the Membership Program and its benefits. |

Community Outreach a High Priority
Community outreach and service continues to be a significant part of EmergyCare's mission to the region.
Recently, at the invitation of Fairview Elementary School principal, Dr. Ben Horn, five EmergyCare employees and two ambulances made a visit to the school for the celebration of their "Heroes Week," commemorating the 9/11 anniversary. The kids got a chance to go through the ambulances and learn more about our area's emergency response system. The entire school was also treated to a special visit by our LifeStar helicopter, which landed on the school grounds while the students were eating their lunch on the lawn. Another recent example of our community service activities includes our continued partnership with PennDOT and the PA State Police to offer families child safety seat checks. Families pulled into the EmergyCare garage yesterday afternoon at a steady rate between 3 - 7 p.m. to have their child safety seats checked for proper fit, proper installation, damage and possible recalls. Numerous new child safety seats were available for no charge when seats currently being used were deemed unsafe. The seats were made possible by donations and grants to the program. Families also received additional advice on best location in the vehicle to minimize injury in the event of an accident.
Next week you'll find us participating in Saint Vincent's Spirit of Women event "Your Best Health is in the Bag." Check out our booth with information about how you can be prepared in a medical emergency. September 28 from 6-9 p.m. at the Ambassador Conference Center. Special thanks to EmergyCare's supporters and donors for helping make it possible for us to provide personnel and resources for these types of community service and outreach activities. |
