First Niagara Invests in EmergyCare's Mission
Support grows for Tour de West County fundraiser

First Niagara Check Presentation

First Niagara Bank has made a $5,000 donation as the lead sponsor for the 2011 Tour de West County, a family-friendly bike tour and expo that will benefit EmergyCare's life-saving mission.  Scheduled for July 23, 2011 at Pleasant Ridge Park the Tour de West County offers a healthy way to support EmergyCare's work in the region.  Participants choose from a 5, 25 or 50 mile bike route for this non-competitive ride.

After the ride everyone gathers back at the park for a great picnic and lots of interactive fun!  Riders can enjoy post-ride massages provided by students from Great Lakes Institute of Technology, kids will love the dino jump and ambulance tours and everyone gets in on the silent auction action.  An incredible array of sports memorabilia, gift certificates, tickets and original art items will be on display for bidding.

Special thanks to the incredible committee working on the event, particularly Dr. Michael Spellacy who founded the event in 2005 to benefit Lance Armstrong's LIVESTRONG campaign but for 2011 and beyond is working with EmergyCare as the lead non-profit beneficiary.  Additional thanks to sponsors Primary Care Partners, Printing Concepts, PAPA Advertising, Silk Screen Unlimited, McDonald's - Thomel Enterprises, Barabas Physical Therapy, LECOM, Hydro-Pac and Allen Insurance Agency.

Greetings!

Wow!  Things are hopping at EmergyCare this Spring.  Major preparations are underway for our fundraiser Tour de West County and the support so far has been amazing.  We're very grateful for those donating items, the volunteers and sponsors that are helping to pull this together.  I hope you'll consider participating in this exciting day in some way...ride your bike, bring your family to the expo, volunteer or make a donation...any way you choose to participate will help us fulfill our mission to the region.

On the patient care side, our team of EMS leaders continues to work with Medical Director Dr. Christopher Cammarata to ensure our professional emergency medical personnel are the most qualified and best trained in the region.  In conjunction with our Equipment Committee and Safety Committee, we're also evaluating our needs over the next five years to ensure we continue to be on the cutting edge of patient care technology, best practice protocols and EMS innovations that give the residents of our region access to the best continuum of care possible.

Our members and donors continue to make this level of service possible.  Thanks for all you do to support EmergyCare.

Yours in health and safety,

Bill Hagerty

Outreach Season In Full Swing

The Spring and Summer seasons bring much activity to our community outreach efforts.  Each year we provide more than 1,000 hours of ambulance stand-by services at the request of organizers of such things as fundraising walks, festivals and sporting events.

According to Dick Schau, Director of Marketing, our ambulance stand-by program, "is one of the ways we give back to the region.  Lots of organizations rely on us to be on-site for their events and festivals each year to help ensure the health and safety of their attendees."  Director of Development, Jennifer Farrar, adds, "thanks to our generous members and contributors, EmergyCare is able to offer this community service at little to no charge.  We're committed to helping organizers and attendees of large events have the peace of mind that comes with knowing emergency medical services are on-site."

Look for us at these upcoming events. Stop by to say hello to the crew and feel free to check out our ambulances.
