I would like to thank all of our students and schools for their tremendous response to the S.O.S. campaign.  This campaign was launched as a way to provide students with a positive outlet for creating and sharing ideas for raising awareness about the massive oil spill in the Gulf waters and its potential impact on our lives.   

 

Over the past two weeks I have had the opportunity to visit several of our schools to see first-hand the creativity and ingenuity of our students, as well as how teachers have worked to incorporate this current event into their classes.  I look forward to seeing more of the S.O.S projects prior to the end of the school year and at the upcoming School Board Meeting on June 22nd.  

 

I am also excited to announce that the outstanding efforts of at least two of our schools will be featured tonight on the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric!  The news broadcast begins at 6:30 P.M.  Congratulations!
