May the sun shine, our days be long and the weather warm. The Spokane River awaits people of all ages and recreational abilities. This issue of e-news focuses on some July family friendly opportunities.

A common refrain we hear is "Can we try it out?" Thanks to Spokane Parks  

and Recreation, a family event designed for people of all ages and skill levels,  

the answer is yes.

We got a winner! And now it's time to get wet paddling and enjoy a glass of wine

Nature has its way
 

Thanks to the remarkable artistry of Dean Davis Photography, click here to view the transformation that has occurred in Riverfront Park. 
 
In less than one year, the YWCA was taken down and the area restored with native vegetation.

Now preserved as open space, pathways and interpretive signage create the setting for a pleasant walk and wonderful views of the upper falls. Expected to be open for public access in July, add this to the list of "must do" activities when heading downtown with friends, family and visitors over the summer.
