What is A.R.T. - Active Release Technique? |
Address Muscle Aches and Pains with this Soft Tissue/Movement based Massage Technique
Active Release Technique or A.R.T. is a soft tissue and movement based massage technique which was created and patented by a chiropractor and often found in chiropractor offices. With this technique the prac titioner applies pressure to a muscle as the client elongates it -it is used in areas of adhesions from injury and over use. This technique can assist in the body's healing process when these restrictions release.
A.R.T. is a technique which can address problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Some conditions which may benefit from this method include: headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fascitis, knee problems and tennis elbow. This technique has become quite popular with endurance athletes. Sherry who is certified in the upper body A.R.T. protocol will integrate this technique into your massage session or alone in a shorter 30 minute session.
