Join Us for Regular Straighten Up Stretching Classes to begin in January 2011!

Learn Effective Stretching Techniques to Keep You Feeling Younger and More Flexible!

Do you have concerns about your posture? Beginning in January 2011, we will be offering regularly scheduled classes where you will learn and practice specific stretches for the upper body.  With the routine of these small classes, we hope that you will begin to incorporate these stretches into your daily activities at work while sitting and performing your repetitive job activities.  Sharon Moore, your instructor, will cover the specific protocol developed by Aaron Mattes to address shoulder, neck, arm, wrist, and hand flexibility.  Ward off common problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, neck strain and TMJ with these specific active isolated stretches that you can do for yourself!

Watch our events calendar as we will be adding the lower body protocol to assist those with lower back, hip and leg issues.  We hope to give you tools that you can use at home, on the field or at your office to keep you feeling younger and more flexible!

Correct Physical Imbalances at NEW class offerings

Improve Flexibility and Function with Personalized Yoga

Kevin Cody of PHASE Fitness Yoga will be offering  personal instruction tailored to your ability and fitness level at our office beginning in January! These small group sessions are designed to teach you proper technique and fundamentals, while providing a routine for regular use. Through consistent practice, you will progress from simple movements to more complex as your body and mind improve their coordination. Since each class will have no more than 4 participants, you will receive hands on instruction rather than just watching a demonstration in a crowd.

This unique approach to exercise is designed to correct the physical imbalances caused by your body's tendency to specialize. While it is a crucial component of any workout regimen, it is especially useful for athletes to avoid injury and over training, as well as anyone who has chronic pain from inefficient, repetitive movement. No matter what your fitness goal, PHASE Fitness Yoga will give your mind and body the tools to succeed.

Let us know if you would like to participate in our introductory classes starting December 18th and/or if you would like to receive advanced notice of the 2011 schedule by sending an us email.  Most classes will be held in the evenings and on the weekends.

Reduce the Effects of Stress with a Massage!

table2massageA Study Which Confirms What Many Already Know, Massage is Good For You!

Does even one massage session benefit your health?  In an October 2010 published study in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, researchers at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles found that even a 45 minute session of Swedish massage can benefit the recipient by lowering the stress hormone, coritsol found in the blood and saliva and by increasing the number of lymphocytes, which will impact the effectiveness of the immune system.

The researchers concluded that even one session of Swedish massage therapy has measurable biologic effects.  And, they look to replicate this study to see how Swedish massage therapy effects the management of inflammation and auto immune conditions.

Hopefully, this only confirms what you already know and this will just motivate you to continue to take time for yourself and reap the benefits of massage therapy!

Wishing you and yours a very festive holiday season and the best for a healthful new year! We have many years of experience in assisting our clients in the pursuit of their health and wellness goals.    Remember to use the waiting list on our scheduling site and we'll do our best to meet your request.

Sincerely,

Tracey Dugdale
