Chamber President Ken Gossett (right) and Vice-President Holly Pritchard present Richard DeVere (center) an award for Luling Chamber of Commerce Board Member of the Year for 2009.  DeVere, owner of Dismukes Pharmacy, was recognized for always being there to help whenever needed.  Richard, and his wife Marilyn, who usually came along to help, both received personalized mugs handcrafted by Luling Icehouse Pottery.

WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS BUSINESS SERVICES

 Offers $15+ Million to Texas Employers

Incentives available for hiring out-of-work Texans

What:  Two-yar program to help defray part of the cost of wages and on-the-job training.

Who:   Private employers hiring eligible unemployed Texans that earned less than $15 per hour in last reported job.

How:  Employ formerly out-of-work individuals for at least 120 days and submit proof of employment and compensation for eligible new hires working a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Incentive:  $2000.00 per hire - Paid at $500.00 each month per employee.
