Annual Conference
This is now booked at the Holiday Inn in Runcorn for Saturday 20th April.
Don't be alarmed by the steps shown on this picture - there is a ramp, and the entrance into the Conference Suite is level! Professor Mary Reilly has confirmed her attendance and will be lead speaker - we will also be having workshops in the afternoon, so far, we have an Orthotist, a professional De-clutterer and with a bit of luck, Canine Partners! We have been able to reduce the costs quite signficantly for yourselves - basically, the hotel is cheaper all round! If you want to get in early, you can download a booking form from here, but remember, the Conference mailing goes to all in January. The only drawback is there are a very limited number of fully accessible bedrooms - unlike the Hilton in Coventry, full-time wheelchair users won't be able to manage in a standard room. Please only request an accessible room if you absolutely must have one and we will try to allocate them as fairly as possible.

Southampton Muscle Workshop -
Back to School
The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign would like to invite all parents living in or around Southampton to our next muscle group meeting. With education squarely back in the country's periphery the charity has decided to theme the meeting 'Back to School'.
The workshop will be an opportunity to talk about educational issues, growing up with muscular dystrophy or a related condition, options for the future and mentoring. Lilly Gyergyak, a Paediatric Neurology Nurse, will be speaking as well the inspirational John Hastie, the man behind the awarding winning film 'A Life Worth Living', which tells the story of one mans journey to meet remarkable Duchenners who are all living productive, creative and fulfilling lives.
With the changing landscape of the education system, the meeting is aimed at supporting and advising families about their child's education and how to manage their condition during this defining period in their lives.
You will also hear about the campaign work of the charity, fundraising opportunities in the area, and have the opportunity to share experiences with other individuals and parents live with a neuromuscular condition.
The details of the meeting are:
Friday 31st August 2012: 1pm-3pm, Holiday Inn Express Southampton, Botley Road, West End, Southampton SO30 3XA
The venue is wheelchair accessible and there is free parking.
New members are encouraged to come along!
If you are keen to attend please contact the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign at:

Cake, Muffin and Tea Parties
We raised the best part of £2,000 from Tea Parties last year, so if you didn't have a go last year, why not give it a try this year? All the resources are available for download from www.cmt.org.uk/Teaparty.php or you can request a pack from me as usual.
Remember, the Party can be as large as you can cope with, or small and intimate with a handful of friends. You're not just raising money, but raising awareness too!
Give it a go!!
