 Integrating manufacturing research and office environments was a key objective of United Therapeutics Corporation (UT) for their recently completed facility. To meet its objective, UT turned to O'Neal, Inc. to provide master planning and detailed design for the pharmaceutical solid dose manufacturing and research and development facility in the Research Triangle Park, NC.
Form truly meets function in UT's breathtaking facility. UT was interested in producing a state-of-art facility that reflected the company mission of "Medicines for Life." During programming, O'Neal worked with UT and created the "Circle of Life" and "Betterment of Mankind" through UT medicines themes that were reflected within the design and layout of the building. Manufacturing is at the core of the building, with all other functions acting as "spokes" in the wheel.
According to David Zaccardelli, Vice President Pharmaceutical Development, the project was "something far from ordinary that integrated manufacturing within the office environment."

Fisher Tank Breaks Ground |
 The South Carolina Department of Commerce, Lexington County, the Central SC Alliance, and O'Neal Inc. celebrated Fisher Tank Company's next step to expand in Lexington. The company broke ground for its new facility in Lexington County on Wednesday. Fisher Tank Company announced late last year that it would invest $9 million and create at least 5 new jobs with the expansion. Paul Windham, Vice President of Fisher Tank Company says, "We are excited to have this unique opportunity to build a brand new, state-of-the-art facility utilizing the knowledge we've gained through 60 years of being in business." Fisher will be relocating from their existing location on Two Notch Road in Lexington to the new and expanded facility at the intersection of Windmill Road and Clover Road in Batesburg-Leesville. "O'Neal is excited to work with Fisher Tank Company on this project," said Scott Davis, O'Neal's Senior Project Manager for the Fisher Project. "Fisher and O'Neal are both ESOP companies and share many of the same values," Davis noted. The plant is expected to be completed in December 2009.

Fenner Dunlop Celebrates Ribbon Cutting |
 Fenner Dunlop hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of their 250,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Lavonia, Georgia. The facility was completed in 2008; however, Fenner took time last week to celebrate the opening of the grassroots facility. Bob Knotts, Allan Cameron, and Scott Davis of O'Neal attended the event. The new facility, designed and constructed by O'Neal, Inc., provides a significant upgrade to Fenner Dunlop's industrial weaving operation which manufactures the core component of its industrial conveyor products. The project was a greenfield development and includes a weaving operation and specialty treating operation, all site amenities, and offices. O'Neal also helped Fenner with site selection and negotiation.

O'Neal Provides School Tools |
 For the 5th year in a row, O'Neal participated in School Tools. The program is administered by the United Way of Greenville and provides low-income families the supplies they need to begin the school year - school supplies that are needed to start the first day of school ready to learn. Each participating company is given a school bus bag filled with names and brief descriptions of students.
