Meet Pretty Boy, the new arrival at SHHR.



Pretty Boy is a 14.2 hand Quarter Horse that came into my care on March 31st.
Pretty Boy's previous owner is moving out of state and does not want to invest in the transportation fees required to move Pretty Boy, 'He's worth nothing' is the previous owners statement.

I knew Pretty Boy (formally known as Shorty) as I used to ride alongside him in the park a couple of years ago and remembered him being a cautious horse that would frustrate his owner because he was too slow.

I can not bear the thought of Pretty Boy being hauled off to Mexico or Canada in a cattle trailor (they pack them in even though a cattle trailor is too small for a horse) only to be killed and sold for meat overseas, which is what happens to most unwanted horses who end up at the auction.

Pretty Boy is healthy and sound.The last four months he had not been out of his corral.
Blue,(see photo below) Taylors' horse needed a companion and there was room for Pretty Boy at Silver Horse Healing Ranch.

Celebrating Silvers' 25th Birthday

Silver, the heart and soul of Silver Horse Healing Ranch will celebrate his 25th birthday on Monday April 6th.



Silver is the inspiration behind the work I do and the equine programs I provide at S.H.H.R.

Silver's engaging presence and eagerness to connect has touched all those that have met him.
He particularly loves kids, teaching a co-operative way of connecting that doesn't involve forceful methods.

Silver is a true follower and will happily follow anyone who knows how to command their
authentic leadership qualities.

Silver's playful and caring nature makes him the perfect horse to meet if you hold any fears regarding horses.
