Questions that came up from our last Women's Survival course:
School Logo-TM1. What if we have our kids with us?

Advice:
  • Have a self defense plan that your kids are completely aware.
  • For example, make sure they know if you are threatened, they should immediately get in the car and start blowing the horn
  • OR if you are parked close to a store, they should start screaming and go in the store and start yelling, "someone is hurting my mommie. HELP. HELP."
  • AT NO TIME should they get between you and the attacker!

The next seminar will address, what to do with your children if attacked.

2. What should I do if attacked and my arms are full of groceries?

Advice:
  • Throw the groceries at the attacker and then ESCAPE. If escape is not possible then go on the offensive attacking with repeat palms to the face and/or attacking their eyes, nose and groin.  You are A PIT BULL - A RATTLE SNAKE - A  MEAN NASTY BADGER with RABIES!
  • You don't have to be big to be ferocious!!!  You have it in you to be a self defense machine !  The human body is built for combat.
3.  What should I say if I am approached or threatened?

Advice:
  • Try NOT to let someone stop you.  If you must say something, just say something along the lines of, "So sorry, I can't stop right now. I'm meeting my husband and point straight ahead as you keep walking."
  • Whatever you say should be used to help you gain distance from the individual in question. DISTANCE IS YOUR FRIEND.
  • If you are corned. Use a commanding voice and tell the attacker to "Get away from me or I will start screaming".
  • If you have your phone in your hand, consider having the police on speed dial so you can hit the button and then say, "I've called the police and they are on their way to the WAL-MART parking lot on Wendover." Say your location loudly. ..."And they are looking for a tall man with a Green shirt and 1970's mustache." Say the assailant's description loudly.
  • If they come toward you, smash them in the face with your phone just like you would with the palm of your hand.

Brief Recap from the last Seminar:
School Logo-TM
Notes:

1. How to stay calm. Simple breathing drills to avoid panic.
---Practice taking a deep breath to help you relax and focus. Do this anytime you feel "frozen"!

2. How to Protect your face, body & legs.
--- Shield your body with your knees and elbows against kicks and punches respectively.

3. The two easiest way to kick a man in the crotch.
--- Knee or front kick.

4. The easiest way to way to break a man's nose.
--- Palm thrust to the nose with one or two hands simultaneously.

5. The three easiest ways to blind a man.
--- Palm him in the nose, Fingers to the eyes in a crossing motion or thumbs to the eyes.

6. Master Hendrix' theory of 5 circles and how to use it to escape a grab.
--- 2 eyes + 1 Nose + 2 testicles.

7. How to hit a man 5 times in one second.
--- Repeat palm blast.

9. The easiest way to correctly shove someone off you.
--- Use the double hand shove by dropping your weight and rising up as you push the bad guy in order to "up root" and "sail" them backward. This move works best if the bad guy turns their back on you as you are repeat palm blasting them.

8. The fastest ways to make a man let go of your throat.
----Hit them in one of the 5 circles
----If the attack is to the front, Step back away from the attacker and swing your arm over their arms and use your armpit to release their grip.
---If the attack is to the back, step backward toward the attacker and swing your arm over their arms to break their grip.  (Note: check out the NEWS 2 coverage link to left and at the top to see us coach the reporter through this move.)

10. Hair grab defenses that you MUST learn.
--- Grab the assailant's hand that has grabbed your hair with both of your hands in order to regain control of your own head and repeat front kick them in the groin.

11. The Two MUST know drills from the Ground/off your back.
----- If the attacker is in between your legs and tries to hit you, black their strike and use your block to wrap their arm. Use your other arm to wrap around their head. Hold them down and use your blocking hand to tear their eyes out. When they push away, kick them off of you.
--- If the attacker is straddling you and they try to punch. Use your hips to "buck them forward" so they are off balance and hands touch the floor. Use your arm to wrap around one of their arms and then put your other hand on their hip. Buck your hips toward the sky again and roll them toward their arm you have "wrapped"

12. How to deal with a knife slasher.
--- If they slice at your face, keep your arms in front of your face with your wrists toward you and dodge your head and feet backward.
--- If they slice at your belly, you just "plank" your belly back.

13. How to deal with a knife to the throat.
--- Move your head away from the knife while grabbing the knife and pushing it in the other direction. Twist their hand or slam their hand into your knee.    (See the pics to the left)

14. How to deal with 2 common Gun man scenarios.
--- From the back. Spin away from the gun while simultaneously using your forearm to knock the gun arm in the opposite direction. Grab their hand and the gun with your hands. Slam their hand into your knee. Be sure the barrel stays pointed away from you.
---   From the Front. Swing one leg back making your body turn as if you are opening a door while
simultaneously using your forearm to knock the gun arm in the opposite direction. Grab their hand and the gun with your hands. Slam their hand into your knee. Be sure the barrel stays pointed away from you.

15. How to apply the Mini Key Chain Stick to these self-defense lessons & how to convert the key chain techniques to everyday weapons including the knife.
--- Go back to the drill where you were playing the roll as the knife slasher. You were actually preparing to use the self - defense key chain with your keys on its key ring.  Simply grab the key chain and swing the keys as if you are slashing with the knife. You don't need to make big slashes.  Quick slashes will do fine.
--- You can use the end of the key chain to thrust forward to the nose or groin as well . If you replace the  key chain with a knife, a forward thrust can be very nasty.
--- Keep in mind that any object you pick up that has a "handle" on it can be swung back and forth and also thrusted toward the face and groin... an example would be a frying pan.  :O   You can also thrust your cell phone straight into the bad guys face like you would the tip of the key chain or like you would with the palm of your hand.

16. Hands on experience on navigating a Parking Lot... Using common sense.
--- Have your keys in your car key in your hand so you are not fumbling around for it when you get to your car.
--- Stay off your mobile phone and avoid distractions.
--- Be aware of any suspicious individuals or activities around you, go back in the building and have someone walk you out if you are unsure of a situation.
--- Be careful turning a blind corner. Swing out away from the turn to  improve your field of view around the corner.
--- When you get to your car: Get in. Lock the door. Crank it up and leave.  Don't linger around.
