 Jeet Kune Do is here! We now have a full Contemporary Jeet Kune Do program at EMA of Greensboro and Stoney Creek.
JKD is the art that Bruce Lee developed which encouraged the practitioner to experiment with various styles and use "No Way as Way." Contemporary JKD has continued to grow and blossom even after Bruce Lee's death by incorporating new methods but still utilizing the concepts that Lee promoted.
Additionally, one key element added to C-JKD is basic Philippine Knife and Stick work. Master Hendrix has studied Philippine methods for nearly a decade.
C-JKD is a fun and eclectic way to learn to defend yourself. The basic principles and concepts are very easy to learn and the class has become popular with both men and women! There are no special uniforms; you just wear your regular street clothes.

WORLD HAPKIDO SEMINAR
WITH GRAND MASTER JUNG WAS
A HUGE SUCCESS!
Friday, November 19th started off with a bang as Grand Master Jung and Master Hendrix tested Mr.David Nadel and Mr. Ricky Hyatt for 1st Degree black belt while Mr.Dan Pilhorn and Mr. Matt Rollins both pretested for 1st Degree. Assisting with the exam were WHA 2nd Degree Black Belts: Dr.Bruce McKillican, Mr. Dug Weston, Mr.Steve Thomas and Mr. Edward Jordan. The test was very inspirational as all candidates gave an incredible demonstration of the principles and techniques at the core of the art.
CONGRATULATIONS to Mr. David Nadel and Mr. Ricky Hyatt, our newest 1st Degree Black belts in HapKiDo!
During the second part of the day Grand Master Jung separated 1st Gups and black belts to work with him on Staff techniques while Master Hendrix covered details of the triangle choke and shoulder lock from the ground as well as standing knife defense with beginner and intermediate students.
Also in attendance were WHA school owners: Mr. Joe Needham from Clemmons, North Carolina, Mr. Misael Rebolar from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Mrs. Elizabeth Roshdy from Cary, North Carolina and Mr. Bill Kelly from Richmond, Virginia.
You can also train with Grand Master Jung in February at the WHA winter camp in Denver, Colorado

Tai Chi is Coming to EMA | 
From the Desk of Master Hendrix:
Master Ellen Hendrix and I went through Dr. Keith Jeffery's Easy Tai Chi and 4 minute fitness (Qui-Gong) certification course a few weeks ago in Palm Springs, California. It is an outstanding program! I was very impressed. I trained privately ...and in small group settings over a 6 day period. The system is an economized blend of primary Yang and Chen Tai Chi movements taught in shorter sets so that busy people can enjoy the health benefits of Tai Chi. Additionally the system encourages the development of basic self defense interpretations of the movements. EMA will begin to offer the Easy Tai Chi program in January of 2011. It's very exciting. We will be hosting Dr. Jeffery - the founder of the Easy Tai Chi System - to North Carolina in 2011!
I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to stay in California for an extra day of training to become one of the first 10 people globally that Dr. Jeffery has taught the 3rd Easy Tai Chi form known as the "Flow". The flow form is a dynamic form which is extensively based on Chen Style Tai Chi. Master Hendrix is also now studying Sun Style Tai Chi to add to the EMA Tai Chi curriculum in the future.

| Master Hendrix with Harinder Singh Sabharwal in November in California training hard!
Harinder Singh is considered one of the top strength and conditioning Gurus in the world. Mr. Sabharwal travels the international circuit spreading his incredible and unique system, which is a combination of kettle bells, tai chi, qi gung and his own indian art of Mala Vidyea...just as the whole is greater than the sum of parts the combination of these four disciplines creates what can only be called the 'Super Athlete'.
Additionally he is one of Paul Vunak's top Jeet Kune Do students!
