Presidents Do Make a Difference for Children and Youth

In 1972, following research showing that many pregnant and lactating mothers and their infants and young children were malnourished, Republican President Richard Nixon signed legislation enacting the Women, Infants and Children program (WIC).

What is the Republican Party's Agenda for Today's Kids?

The Republican National Convention is August 27th - 30th. As you watch the ceremonies on TV or read the speeches in newspapers, listen for the Republicans' plans to improve the lives of America's children. The official Convention website is www.gopconvention2012.com

Polls show that the American people support greater public attention and commitment to child health and safety, early-childhood education, primary and secondary education and youth development efforts. Currently, over one-third of all public investments in children's programs come from the federal government.
