New Initiative:
VOTE for KIDS New York
|
|
Westchester Children's Association (WCA) invites you to join our VOTE for KIDS New York initiative to urge all of our elected leaders to prioritize children during the election season.
Though children represent 24% of the population and 100% of its future, children are rarely mentioned in the political discussions at a time when they are facing significant issues having to do with poverty, early childhood education, child health and nutrition, child welfare, out-of-school time and disconnected youth.
According to the latest KIDS COUNT Data Book, New York's children rank 29th in the country in child well-being, worse than all of our Northeast neighboring states. Is 29th what we want for our state's children?
Together with you, we aim to educate the candidates on the importance of children's issues and ultimately ensure that they set priorities that improve the well-being of all of New York's children.
We'll equip you with the materials you need to advocate for our children: Questions to ask candidates, their responses to our questionnaires, issue fact sheets, etc. I hope you will join us in this new initiative, and utilize and share the information resources available through VOTE for KIDS New York.
Please forward this issue to your friends, neighbors, colleagues and family!
VOTE for KIDS New York is supported by Voices for America's Children.
