The Westchester County Board of Legislators has made additions to the budget proposed by County Executive, Rob Astorino in the following areas...
Child Care Subsidies
$4,995,000 to provide scholarships and keep the parent share of child care constant, supporting our youngest residents and keeping their parents working.
Youth Programs
$634,399 to Invest in Kids, a local tax levy that provides dozens of programs - including tutoring, mentoring, arts, leadership, and job-readiness - for thousands of young people.
Health
$3,028,850 to Neighborhood Health Centers, which provide medical care for thousands of uninsured children and families from Cortlandt to Mt. Vernon.
Social/Behavioral Health $490,000 (note the corrected amount) to Early Step Forward, an innovative program that helps young children, as well as their parents and caregivers, understand and cope with difficult emotions and behaviors.
