Voters often underestimate the severity of the challenges children face everyday, nationally, like:

• In 2009, 1 in 5 kids under five lived in poverty
• Only 1 in 3 fourth-graders reads at a "proficient" grade level
• Nearly 1 in 3 kids meet the medical definition of overweight or obese

Three steps can help change these numbers:
