ADVOCACY ALERT! BUDGET UPDATES: County, State & Federal News
|
Westchester County Thank County Executive Astorino and the County Board of
Legislators for meeting with advocates to discuss the proposed $5.8million in reductions
to social services, and their impact on children and families in Westchester.
Please urge County officials to keep children at the top of
the public agenda. Remind that investments in children and youth have a high
rate of return. Ask them to cut government, not services. Ask them to say NO to:-
Reduced subsidies, cuts to scholarships, and
increased parent fees for child day care;
- Cuts to community-based services that help
troubled families and prevent out-of-home placement;
- Elimination of a contracted program that helps
domestic abuse victims who are also involved in child welfare cases.
