ADVOCACY ALERT:

Get it Done Right! Protect Gains in Children's Coverage

The Senate Finance Committee passed a health care bill on October 13th by a 14-9 vote. This version (also known as the "Bachus Bill" - click here for the online document) will next be reconciled with the bill developed by the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee. Leaders hope to bring a single bill to the Senate floor during the week of October 19th.

Child advocates across the country are focused on ensuring that children do not lose the ground gained during recent expansion of CHIP, known in New York State as Child Health Plus.

Contact Senators Schumer and Gillibrand (information below) and tell them to make sure health reform gives New York's children health coverage that is affordable, comprehensive, and easy to access
