2010 Twenty Ten, or Two Thousand Ten?
There has been some controversy over the correct way to say the year.
I have a
strong feeling in favor of saying twenty ten. It seems hopeful and positive for
me. I hadn't yet looked up any opinions on how we should be saying the year, so
sat down this morning to check out what the internet had to say on the subject.
This quote
from the Economic Times, really hit home for me.
"Two thousand ten sounds a lot closer to two
thousand nine. 2009 was a disastrous year and people want to get over it now.
So they will want to use twenty ten. Look at it from a positive angle. It's not
the end of a decade, it is the beginning of a brand new one, where people want
to think positive. "Consumers don't want to think about negativity." 2010 will
be defining year, when the economy finally got back on track.
I know we're a few weeks into into the New Year, and it seems a little late for resolutions and
introspection. But is it really? We've all had this time to get a start on our
year. Has anything changed? Have you been able to change any old habits, or
start any good new ones, or has the business of living day-to-day lulled you
back into "life as normal"?
This is a good time to reassess and make a decision - do you want to continue life
as it has been, or are you ready to step up to something new, more positive,
more loving, more joyful...more...(you fill in the blanks). You also have a choice
as to how you interpret the events in your life. That choice can make a world
of difference in how you feel, how you live, and how you progress to the next
stage of your life.

Full Signal - The Movie
There is a new documentary out about the
proliferation of cellular technology and its impact.
Quote:
"There is growing evidence that cellular technology is harmful to us. This has
not been proven, but by the time it could be proven, it could be too late to do
something about. So now is the time to err on the side of caution."
Screenings are limited, check the website for
times and dates.
We're hoping the movie will be available as a
DVD soon. When it is, we'll let you know. Their website simply says "Advance
sales coming in 2010".
We've been in the forefront since 1990 telling
people our technology is dangerous. People listen
to intelligent, rational sounding people who speak out. As Shield wearers, we
can be a mighty force for good! Please join us in spreading the word
and helping people become protected - one Shield at a time.

this confusion and subsequent frustration comes one bottom line:

"I've Just Been So Busy Lately"
Reprinted from "The Art of Non-Conformity" by Chris Guillebeau
Sorry I was rude to you the other day, someone said. I've just
been so busy.
Guess what: we're all busy!
Every one of us. It's not a very exclusive club.
And here's another reality check: because we're all busy, no one really
cares about how busy someone else is. One way or another, we all make time for
what's important to us.
In a group project, a person who freaks out about being busy will stall,
defer, and generally keep everyone else waiting on them. They use busyness as
an excuse for poor performance. Sometimes it's faster to put this person in a
room by themselves and let them whine while you do their job for them.
A person in control of being busy will keep the project moving forward at
all costs. They like deadlines, direct communication, and tough assignments.
That's the kind of person you want on your team. If you're serving on someone
else's team, that's the kind of person you should be.
The strategies for dealing with being "so busy" are pretty basic:
1) Be less busy. If being busy really prevents you from
doing something you want, stop being so busy. It's not that complicated.
2) Stop complaining and enjoy it. Personally, I like busy.
I had fun visiting the islands last week, but islands can be sleepy little
places. In Fiji I sat by the pool for an hour, but then I got bored and went
back to working on my projects.

Terhahertz Waves:
Scientific Breakthrough or Impending Health Meltdown?
There is a new technology
that has scientists positively giddy with excitement.
As one article states "Over the last century, scientists have progressively
explored and conquered the electromagnetic spectrum. Starting with visible
light, and developing techniques for generating and detecting radiation at both
higher and lower frequencies. As each successive region of the spectrum has
been colonized, new technology has been developed to exploit the newly
discovered radiation. For example, X-rays are used to image unseen objects with
the visible light. Near-infrared radiation is used in fiber-optic
communications and in compact-disc players, microwaves are used to transmit
signals from mobile phone, etc.
But there
is one part of the electromagnetic spectrum that has steadfastly resisted our
advances. This is the terahertz region, which ranges from frequencies of about
300 GHz to 10 THz (10 x 1012 Hz)." The excitement is generated by many potential
uses in medicine and industry.
Our
question is - are they safe? How does our DNA feel about being bombarded by
terahertz waves? The Technology Review, published by MIT, has the very same
question! Read More

| Instructions - Recharging Your Shield |
Now is a great time to recharge your shield. There is no full moon right now, so even if you accidentally leave your Shield out overnight, the draining effect will be minimal. Yes, moonlight can drain your Shield, so you should hang only during daylight hours. To charge hang in a window or outside if possible. Six hours if it's cloudy, 3 hours if it's sunny.
Tip
from Dick Hatfield, long time distributor in Montana. To prevent his
Shield from being taken by birds, he locks it to a chair, post or clothesline with his
bicycle chain! Dick tells his customers these instructions.
"I'll go the extra mile to make sure no one loses their
Shield."
This sounds pretty funny, but over the last 20
years, we've had people replace their shields because animals and birds
loved them so much, they took them! Who can blame them - it's that
great earth resonance frequency of the shield - it feels good to all
living beings!
