Dexter's welcomes Great Life

...and says goodbye to some
of our previous favorites
As we've mentioned in recent newsletters, we're revisiting our mission to bring you the best in natural foods and products for pets.
Unfortunately that means sometimes we need to let old favorites go by the wayside. Many pet food companies start out as small family-owned endeavors where the focus is on creating a quality product above all. In some cases, as the companies grow, the focus shifts to furthering economic growth, and too often this is done at the expense of maintaining the highest quality products.
This month we're taking steps further on the path of maintaining our own integrity.
We've decided to stop stocking Innova & Evo foods because they are now owned by Proctor & Gamble. We'll no longer be stocking Nature's Variety and most of Wellness' foods because as their companies have grown, their quality has not risen with their prices.
We're happy to introduce you to Great Life dry food. It's similar to the original formulas of Nature's Variety dry foods, and the samples we've been handing out have been given "paws up" by the four-legged testers. They offer options both with and without grains.
Nature's Variety, Innova, Evo, & Wellness won't disappear overnight, but be sure to stop in before you're completely out of food so you can transition easily to another food.
In our raw food department we're happy to continue with
Smallbatch Pets (made in the San Francisco Bay Area), and you will find their food in place of Nature's Variety along with
Stella & Chewy's. Smallbatch will be introducing nuggets soon as an option to their patties and chubs, to provide more options. We're also stocking
My Perfect Pet, a freshly cooked frozen food made right here in San Diego.
As we go through this shift we continue to hunt for foods that we feel fit well with our mission. We will continue to offer foods that will fit your needs, for your pet and (as best we can) your pocketbook.
We plan to bring you news of more new products in next month's newsletter, but to get word "as it happens" keep an eye on our
Facebook and
Twitter feeds.
