Dexter's is going
PESTICIDE-FREE
We're ending the sale of Advantage and Frontline at our stores.
Over the years we've become more and more concerned about the sometimes severe adverse reactions pets experience, and the hidden long-term damage caused by applying these toxins.
We are now going to follow the general rule of thumb that if it is not safe for our skin, it's not safe for our pet's skin either; if it's poisonous when swallowed we don't want our children hugging the family pet who's covered in such a chemical.
All monthly flea treatments are toxic, so we urge you to avoid them if you can. One of the safer among them is Comfortis (only available through veterinarians), so we recommend it if you really need immediate forceful help.
It's important to tell your veterinarian if your pet has an adverse reaction to spot-on flea products so that they can report it to government. This anecdotal reporting is, unfortunately, the only way to improve the safety of future products.
At Dexter's we're always discussing how we can best continue to serve our community and the pets in it. We hope you continue to travel that road with us as the changes come. We're always on the hunt for foods, supplements, and other products that live up to the standards we try to offer in our stores, so keep your eyes on the shelves this Spring for more exciting product changes.
