In The Spirit of Giving
Here are a few wonderful animal organizations you may not know about that would benefit from your generous support this holiday season.
Pets of the Homeless is an all volunteer organization that provides pet food and veterinary care to the homeless and less fortunate in communities across the United States and Canada through the utilization of collection sites, existing distribution organizations (food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters), grants for veterinarians providing care, and grants to homeless shelters that will allow pets sanctuary with their owners.
The Grey Muzzle Organization improves the lives of at-risk senior dogs by providing funding and resources to animal shelters, rescue organizations, sanctuaries, and other non-profit groups. They are not a shelter or rescue group. Grey Muzzle funds programs such as hospice care, senior dog adoption, medical care, & other special programs to help create happy endings for these elders.
 BrightHaven is a healing arts center & sanctuary in Santa Rosa, CA. They educate the public on the many natural alternatives to conventional health care or euthanasia, and the issue of hospice care and transition itself. Over the last 15 years they have given sanctuary and hospice care to hundreds of senior and special needs animals, and use their experience to help others care for their senior or special needs animals so that they can keep them at home.
