ANNUAL FUND UPDATE - PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY TO TGS!

Thanks to all who have contributed to the Annual Fund this year. If you have not already given, now is the time to donate. We are at $55,000 towards our goal of $100,000, and our fiscal year closes on June 30. Remember that tuition only covers part of the cost of educating your children. Every child who attends TGS receives a silent scholarship, supported by the Annual Fund.

Our goal is to achieve 100% participation by all members of the school community - please donate today!

PUTNEY AT THE MOVIES! How about a movie house IN PUTNEY (with popcorn)?? Just imagine being able to drop your son or daughter at the movies IN PUTNEY!  TGS parent Billy Straus is part of non-profit Next Stage Arts and starting in June (see the listing below), we are launching Next Stage Cinema to show feature and independent films on a regular basis on a BIG screen, right in the center of Putney. I am looking to assemble a group of adults and/or responsible kids who would like to help with this project, selecting films, plugging in the popcorn machine, running the projector, all making it so we have movies right here in town year round for kids, adults, and families without having to drive to Brat (or farther!!). This is not a huge time commitment as a lot of the legwork is already done, but it will be great asset for the community. We just need a group of folks committed to help make it fly. Please call 387-8500 or email: billystraus@gmail.com

FRESH AIR FRIENDLY TOWN PROGRAM - Share your fresh air with a child who gets very little! There are hundreds of New York inner city children waiting for an invitation to experience a week or two of our summers in New England. Open your hearts and homes to one of these kids and receive an enriching experience for you and your family in return. Through the generosity of families and individuals from Virginia to Canada, the Fresh Air Friendly Town Program has given almost 2 million children the joys of clean air and summer fun since its founding in 1877. Please call Tom and Linda Kosiba for more information at (802) 722-4315.

CAREGIVER NEEDED - My family and I will be living in Putney this August and we are seeking a part-time instructor/caregiver for our boys, ages 4 and 6. The boys love arts, science, and the outdoors. They are playful, but they are also capable of spending hours on various projects, such as drawing. They have the full run of our family home-- though due to the presence of a new baby, it would be nice for them to have occasional changes of scene.

We would love to find a warm, energetic individual, ideally someone with experience in education, to spend mornings with them in August--salary commensurate with experience.  If you happen to know someone, such as a teacher or responsible student, who might be interested in such a position, I would be much obliged!

Warmly,
Ilyon Woo
