All School Head of School Email Coming Your Way
 | HOS for the day Colton White |
Please be on the lookout for an all school email with some important information and requests coming your way soon. Work Day - Thanks to everyone for a fun, productive day! (See the note from Chris Harlow, below.) Two Key Administrative Positions Filled I would like to introduce our newest TGS Administrative Staff. Over the last two months, two search committees of parents, trustees, staff, and faculty screened fifty applications and interviewed a total of ten people for the position of Director of Admissions, Marketing, and Financial Aid and the position of Director of Development. I would like to announce the hiring of Phil Blood of Guilford, Vermont as the DOA and Pauline O'Brien of North Westminster, Vermont as the DOD. Their biographies will follow in my HOS all school email, coming soon. The staff and faculty are very excited about Phil's and Pauline's level of experience and commitment to their professions as well as what they will bring to the TGS community. They both will start officially on July 1. Please welcome them to the TGS community and look for their bios in my HOS All School Email. Steve Lorenz, Head of School |
WORK DAY THANK YOU!! |

Last Saturday the weather was perfect for a very productive and well attended work day. We spruced up the campus, put away the ice rink, cleaned gardens, cut wood, raked, swept, and generally worked hard while still having a good time. Thank you all for your time and dedication to The Grammar School and ultimately to your children. It is parent and student involvement like this that makes this community so special. Again, thank you for all your help.

VISITORS FROM THE NORTH ARRIVING MAY 7!
|
Hooray!!! Our Montreal penpals will be arriving at TGS on Saturday, May 7!
TGS French students in grades 4-7 have been corresponding with students at Collège Stanislas in Montreal since the beginning of the school year. The 6th and 7th graders visited them in March in Montreal. Now they are coming to see us here at our school.
Students will stay with TGS families, hike Putney Mountain, and attend a potluck generously hosted by the Todd Long family. They also will visit local sites of interest. On Monday they will attend TGS with their TGS penpals to see what our school is like. If you come across any of them in the hall, please remember to greet them with a friendly "Bonjour!" or "Bienvenue au Vermont!"

MOTHER NATURE'S CHILD
In case you hoped to see MOTHER NATURE'S CHILD and missed it recently on VT or NH public television, I just want to let you know about some free public screenings in your neighborhood. The subject matter may not be of interest to you personally but perhaps there's someone you know-- a parent, teacher, student, counselor, doctor or outdoor educator -- who'd enjoy learning more about nature's role in child development. If so, please pass on the following dates:
Thursday, May 5th at 7 p.m. screening/discussion at the Putney Library
Thursday, May 12th at 7 p.m. screening/discussion at NewsBank Conference Center, Chester, discussion followed by refreshments
Though definitely not in your neighborhood, there will also be a major screening event at Shelburne Farms on Wednesday, May 18th at 7 p.m. Several experts featured in the film will attend to lead individual discussion groups, followed by a reception. You may know people who'd like to travel to this one!
You can learn more about the film, see a trailer, and find the details for all these screenings -- and more -- on our website: http://www.mothernaturesmovie.com/category/events/month
Snow, flooding, flowers...isn't Mother Nature such a tease these days?
Sending warm wishes & wishes for warmth,
Camilla
