"We need you! Actually we need you AND your spouse/partner/neighbors/friends to attend the TGS Spring Event " 'Til the Cows Come Home" ..this Friday, May 29th at 6:30 at the lovely Alyson's Orchard in Walpole.
What we also need are your flowers and decorative plants to make the event "more pretty." Decorations Committee Chair Karen Shapiro has requested that any and all contributions of such items be left at TGS at the entrance on Friday morning at drop-off. If you wish, you may take them home at the end of the evening. And if anyone has a large, life-size, plasticine cow or two.....leave that at the entrance as well. It will be used for decorative and not culinary purposes. We promise. Questions regarding decorative items should go to Karen Shapiro. Thank you!

LETTER FROM CHRIS HARLOW, TRANSPORTATION MANAGER - Steve, Tammy, Dick Donovan, Marcia Toole and I met Thursday morning to discuss next year. Because of the current economy and the need to be fiscally prudent we have not offered employment to Dick and Marcia for the 2009-10 school year. This is absolutely not a decision concerning driving ability or performance. Quite the opposite. Marcia and Dick have served The Grammar School with loyalty and professionalism for thirteen years and eleven years respectively. This decision was long thought out , based on economic planning and where we could reduce costs without negatively affecting programs. The Grammar School is financially sound but steps are necessary to insure continued viability. This reduction in force will have minimal impact on the school as a whole while achieving a more manageable budget.. As I said, Marcia and Dick have been great bus drivers and they will absolutely be missed. Their friendship and dedication has made this decision very difficult but their understanding and character (of course) has made our conversations and this transition positive and amenable. I cannot thank them enough for their time here and we wish them all the best. They will continue to drive until the end of this school year. Beginning next fall the busses will be driven by Tammy and me. Chris Harlow
BEN SHUMLIN AND RORY CUERDON - will be riding 20 miles in Cape Cod this Saturday to raise money for Best Buddies, an organization that supports people with intellectual disabilities.
