THINK SPRING (AUCTION)

While you're still rightfully enjoying skiing and all that winter has to
offer, the time has come to start planning this year's Spring Auction.

SAVE THE DATE! Friday, May 15th at Boggy Meadow Farm in Walpole, NH. This is the premier social event for the TGS adult community as well as an important fundraiser. Fine food, drink, aucton items and live music!  BroadBand has already committed to playing and they are sure to get everyone dancing (featuring TGS parent and French teacher Johanna Gardner her husband Bahman Mahdavi. This highly energized band is sure to please.  Food catered by TGS's own Elizabethan Fare run by Elizabeth and David Warner. Auctioneering by the famed Ned Childs.

Mark Green and Kathleen Hathaway have agreed to co-chair this year's auction again and are looking for parents to volunteer for auction responsibilities. We also ask that all parents help contribute auction items large and small...details to follow...

We need folks to:  1: help coordinate and solicit live and silent auction items  2: work with teachers/students on class projects 3: help with decorations. Some folks have already stepped up and volunteered to coordinate these activities, but they will need help from the
parent community. Please contact Mark or Kathleen if you are interested. mkgreen@thegrammarschool.org or  khathaway@vermontel.net
THANK YOU!

LIBRARY BIRTHDAY PARTY THANK YOU! - Thank you to all who helped make this year's Library Birthday Party such a fun event.  The entire school enjoyed lively and challenging entertainment provided by kindergarten and sixth grade.  Eve, Evie, Ja Ja, Carolyn, Emily, Leyte, Linda, Kathleen, Laura, Sarah, Jennie, Doris, and Jennifer provided yummy cupcakes - thank you!  If I missed anyone, please let me know.  And last but not least, a huge thanks to everyone who brought a gift.  We received a terrific collection of books for the Library. Each one is certain to be enjoyed by our students.  The celebration ends with students recommending books while they wait their turn to pick out a cupcake.  Every year, the enthusiasm and number of students who will even delay cupcake time to be called upon impress me.  This is a tribute to you for encouraging reading in your homes and at school.  Thank you again, Ponnie

IMPORTANT SKI UPDATE
- February 10th was our last ski day at Okemo and Grafton Ponds. After much consideration, we have decided that it is too problematic to carry the 7th week into March 3rd. Okemo can not host us the week of  Feb 17th, ( that was a date they gave us originally, but they reneged later) and the following week is our winter break with many families leaving town. We have decided that March 3rd just doesn't work with the change in the schedule to accommodate recorder and the musical, and teachers are feeling the need to resume with their academic studies after two months and a couple of snow days of missed classroom time. Okemo has agreed to refund us the 7th day and the Business office will issue refunds where applicable. Some families still owe money for the program. In hindsight on the years when we have February break it seems best to have a six week program, and other years, seven works well. Thanks for your support of this amazing winter experience where family, friends and TGS staff get to ski together.
