IMPORTANT SKI UPDATE
Next Tuesday February 10th will be our last ski day at Okemo and Grafton Ponds. After much consideration, we have decided that it is too problematic to carry the 7th week into March 3rd. Okemo can not host us the week of  Feb 17th, ( that was a date they gave us originally, but they reneged later) and the following week is our winter break with many families leaving town. We have decided that March 3rd just doesn't work with the change in the schedule to accommodate recorder and the musical, and teachers are feeling the need to resume with their academic studies after two months and a couple of snow days of missed classroom time. Okemo has agreed to refund us the 7th day and the Business office will issue refunds where applicable. Some families still owe money for the program. In hind sight on the years when we have February break
it seems best to have a six week program, and other years, seven works well. Thanks for your support of this amazing winter experience where family, friends and TGS staff get to ski together.

The Grammar School Celebrates
Our Library's 49th Birthday!
Thursday, February 5th
Each year we celebrate our wonderful library with a birthday party that includes exciting entertainment provided by various classes, opening gifts from students, and all delighting in delicious cupcakes.   A week from today, on Thursday, February 5th, the Library will be celebrating its 49th birthday.

If you would like to send a gift to the birthday party, a library wish list was sent home via back pack express and can be seen on line at http://web.mac.com/tgs5364/Library/From_the_Library.html. Putney Books also has a copy of our list as well as most of the books on it.  If you opt instead to give a book from your child's bookshelf, please check that the book is in mint condition and that we do not have a copy in the library.  While all thoughtfully selected gifts are greatly appreciated, our growing library no longer has room for duplicate or worn copies of books.

Bakers...once again, if you would be willing to contribute a dozen cupcakes for the birthday party, please let me know.  We estimate that we will need eleven dozen.

At TGS we are fortunate to have a library that receives support from so many.  Parents generously volunteer in the library, encourage students to use the library regularly, read with their children during the March Reading Challenge, participate in the book fair, and contribute to the library through gifts and donations.  As always, we are grateful for your support.

The library birthday party is an enjoyable event for everyone.  If you would be willing to bake a dozen cupcakes or if you have any questions, please contact me at school, home (869-1467), or by email (pderby@tgs-putney.org).

Thank you,
Ponnie
