should arrive at 6:00 for tuning instruments. All others arrive by 6:10 and report to their homerooms. Holiday clothing is welcomed but not required.
No t-shirts with writing/advertising.

WINTER CRAFTS HAVE BEGUN!   SECRET SANTA TIME AGAIN! - During the merriment of the Secret Santa week, students will be drawing names today or tomorrow to find out who they will be Secret Santa to, then students put written clues as to who their Secret Santa is in cubbie's at least 3 times before the final gift is given at the end of next week. The final gift should cost around $6. Examples are little toys, chocolates, paperback books, homemade presents, and baked goods. Please have kids bring their final gift (wrapped and labeled with to and from) to the Library on Wednesday 12/17. The Secret Santa present exchange will take place on Fri. 12/19. FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER - Ponnie and TGS Staff are heading the collection of non-perishable food/items for the food shelf at Putney Family Services. A container outside the school library awaits to be filled with donated items. Thank you!

LOOKING FOR AN AFTER SCHOOL ART/CLAY INSTRUCTOR-If you know anyone who would be interested and able to teach a fall arts and crafts class or a hand-building clay class after school at TGS, please contact William. COMMUNITY NEWS! DEAR GRAMMAR SCHOOL FRIENDS - We are seniors at Brattleboro Union High School and on December 6th we will be traveling to Malmo, Sweden to study renewable energy sources. During the week-long trip, coordinated by Marlboro College and the Vermont Global Trade Partnership, we will visit various green energy sites. Specifically we will explore methods of harnessing power form wind, solar, biomass, and geothermal energy. When we return, we will present our findings to local classes, businesses, and state representatives. The trip will be expensive and we are holding a raffle to help raise money. Prizes include two tickets to the Colbert Report (must be 18 to attend the show), a seventy-five dollar gift certificate to Altiplano, and many other prizes sponsored by local businesses. UPCOMING DANCE AND MUSIC PERFORMANCES AT THE PUTNEY SCHOOL - The Putney School Dance Program, under the direction of Kalya Yannatos, will perform two concerts, one on Saturday, December 13 at 8 p.m. and the other on Sunday, December 14 at 2 p.m. Both will be performed on the recently installed dance floor on the stage of the Michael S. Currier Center's Calder Hall auditorium. Selections will include individual and ensemble pieces of jazz, modern, hip-hop, and classical ballet.
The Putney School Music Program, under the direction of James Wallace, will perform Tuesday, December 16 at 4 p.m., also in Calder Hall. The concert will include solo and group performances of jazz, classical, and folk music by instrumental and vocal groups including the Putney Madrigals, Putney Orchestra, and the Putney Jazz Ensemble.

WEAVING PARTY - for 9-12 year olds! Design and weave a colorful cotton belt or beautiful bookmarks in half a day workshop. Weavers are invited to Shana Frank's Inkle Loom Studio in Westminster on Sat. Dec. 13, Fri. Jan. 2, or Sat. Jan 3. Bring a bag lunch and join the fun. SANTA LUCIA - Saturday Dec, 13th at the Stone Chapel in Bellows Falls. The Bluebird Theater (Isak & Ole Saaf, their parents and friends) will present a marionette show to celebrate Santa Lucia Day. This is the story - mostly told in song - of the Saint's beginnings in Italy, her miracles, and how she wound up in Sweden where she continues to bring light and cookies to northerners when they need them the most. $5 admission.
