Convention Information
|  Delegate Registration: All persons attending or presenting at any meeting at convention MUST be registered for convention. Please use the delegate registration form. For those LMSCs with five or more delegates, you can opt to fill out the group registration form (pay with one check). - Earlybird Fee:
- Postmarked by Aug. 20, 2012: $160
- Postmarked on Aug. 21 or later: $190
- Hotel Reservations: Hotel information can be found on the USAS website. You are responsible for making your hotel reservations directly with the Sheraton Four Seasons. Use the Sheraton link. Click on "Groups" and enter Attendee code AQUA12 (not case sensitive) or call the Sheraton Greensboro reservation number 800-242-6556 (to receive the convention room rate, mention United States Aquatic Sports). The cutoff date is August 7 (this is earlier than usual). Please make your reservations early to avoid having to stay at another hotel.
- Transportation: The GSO Airport Greensboro is located approximately 20 minutes from the Sheraton Four Seasons.
- Shuttle: Options are hotel shuttle, if you don't mind waiting for 30-40 minutes, (call the hotel: 336-292-9161). Or, Greensboro Airport Limo & Taxi (877- 297-8428) $26 (one way, one person), $31 (one way, 2-3 people)
- Driving Directions: Driving directions can be obtained by typing the following address into MapQuest or Google: 3121 High Point Road at I-40, Greensboro, NC 27407.
- Parking: No charge
- Internet: Free throughout the hotel for registered guests
- Certification Table: The certification table will be open on Wednesday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (vendor area), Thursday 7-7:45 a.m. (vendor area), Thursday 9:15-9:45 a.m. (House of Delegates Room), Thursday afternoon through Saturday (come find Debbie Cavanaugh).

2014 Long Distance Bids Due
| A reminder to all clubs interested in bidding for any of the 2014 Long Distance National Championship events (Postal or Open Water), bids are due to the Long Distance Chair, Donn Livoni, on or before August 1.

LMCS Standards Policy | The LMSC Standards policy was updated by the Board of Directors earlier this year for the first time since its adoption in 2009. This document, which used to be called the "LMSC Minimum Standards," outlines the basic level of service that an LMSC shall deliver to its members.
The LMSC Standards document can be found at usms.org in the Guide to Operations under the Administration tab. You'll see the link in the LMSC Management section.
All LMSC officers and volunteers are encouraged to review the policy to understand the required and suggested standards of service and governance. The LMSC Development Committee reviews how the LMSCs are performing so it can better provide mentoring and education services to that group of volunteers. The process of LMSC self-assessment, review and error check is underway through the LMSC Chairs. Self-assessment surveys (due July 4) will be combined with data from the National Office and Top 10 coordinator. Results are expected in late July to early August. Please help to ensure accurate data as well as to identify gaps within your LMSC by working with your LMSC and Zone Chairs. Questions may be directed to:

2013 Rulebook Artwork Submissions | The Rule Book cover is printed in full color, 5-1/2 inches by 8-1/2 inches and in a mini version that is 8 ½ x 4 inches. The artwork should be slightly larger for the bleeds.
The requirements are that the artwork contain the U.S. Masters Swimming logo and lettering and "2013 Rule Book." You can download the logo in several different formats.
Any standard electronic format will be accepted. U.S. Masters Swimming may ask that it is sent in an alternative format if unable to view.
Please email the electronic artwork by September 1, 2012 to Susan Ehringer. A hardcopy of the artwork will be printed in 8-1/2 x 11 for viewing and taken to Convention to allow members at Convention to vote on their favorite cover. If you wish to send the hardcopy artwork, it must be postmarked by September 1, 2012 and sent to: Susan Ehringer, 4210 N. Church Way #2, Louisville, Ky. 40207.

Note that some meeting topics are confidential in nature and minutes will not be posted for these portions of meetings.
