A Legend Retires
This week, John Lynch, hard-hitting safety in the NFL for the past 15 years, announced his retirement. With 9 Pro Bowl selections, he has been a force to be reckoned with for offenses wanting to keep their helmets intact.
John and Pete Egoscue have been long time friends and it has been a pleasure to work with such a class act over the years as he frequented the Egoscue Clinic in Del Mar (John's hometown). My first experience with John came while participating in Patch workouts during the summer camp of '99. It all started out well and I was able to keep up in the 400's, stairs, hopovers, bench dips, and stair crabs, until Pete (leading the stadium workout) had us do inchworms across the football field. This was where John dusted EVERYONE at the camp, including his fellow NFL athletes. I've yet to see a more functional athlete in action compared to John when he was in his prime. A great, albeit humbling, experience... Good luck with your future endeavors John and thanks for the memories.
