Tour Stonestown Farmers Market with A16 Chef/Owner
Join Liza Shaw (Chef/owner of A16), Rebecca Katz (local Author/Chef), and Molly Bloom of Eatwell Farm for a tour of the Stonestown Farmers Market in San Francisco on Sunday, September 13th at 11am. The trio will explore the market, teaching customers how to take advantage of the abundance of fresh produce and the fact that you can meet the farmer face to face.
These tours were designed to provide those experiencing cancer, as well as their caretakers and loved ones, with access to local and sustainable foods by means of educational tours and classes. The tours are free, open to the public, and applicable to anyone who wants to become more comfortable and familiar with their local market and food producers. Learn more. |
S.A.R.E. National Continuing Education Program in Sustainable Agriculture
S.A.R.E. is offering a continuing education program designed for Cooperative Extention and Natural Resource Conservation Service personnel (particularly new staff members), and other agricultural, natural resource and community development professionals. It will emphasize core concepts and a basic understanding of sustainable agriculture, its goals and its relevance to every farming and ranching operation - large or small. The program includes five courses, all available free of charge.

Fairfax: The latest addition to the market is Nessia Berner, Fairfax's new farmers market manager. Nessia, a West Marin native, is very excited to be joining all the local farmers, specialty food purveyors, and the Fairfax community on Wednesday nights under the redwoods!
